Our casual family and friends resort is located in Porta Del Sol area of Northwest Puerto Rico. The Porta Del Sol area is not an area of hot night life.

Our area is about the jungle, the beach, small traditional hamlets, limestone karst outcrops with deep canyon cut down between them with strong mountain streams.

Villa Montana Beach Resort is the only 4 star, luxury villa resort in the Porta Del Sol area of Northwest Puerto Rico.

We sit on 35 acres of lush dense tropical greenery that fronts onto 3 miles of isolated, deserted beach. Yes, we said, 3 miles of deserted beach.

Villa Montana is the only 4 star resort with Puerto Rican Tourist Board Awards in the area of Aguadilla Puerto Rico. At Aguadilla is Aguadilla Airport - BQN - with direct flights from Newark, JFK, Orlando (from May 15 06 and Atlanta (from June 1 06).

From Aguadilla Airport, BQN, Villa Montana Beach Resort is a 15 minute drive from the upper plateau down through the cliffs and into the isolated beach area on the Caribbean.

Aguadilla used to be the home to a US Air Force base. That base has now been converted into an international airport with several flights from the US. The airport is still a friendly, low key, place where the deplaning stairs are wheeled up to the plane and our guests get to walk down into the tropical surroundings.

Aguadilla has a small town atmosphere. There are just a few shops, surfing shop, scuba shop, and local food market.

Our beach front hotel is 12 miles west of Isabela. Isabela is not a quaint Puerto Rican Hispanic town. It is rather our major commercial center on the Northwest Porta Del Sol shore. It is here that we go for commercial shopping such as Wal Mart and for banking. The small, locally owned shops are not intended for luxury guests.. They are to fulfill our local needs

Luxury Resort - Rincon, Puerto Rico, Caribbean

Our beach front resort is 45 minutes from Rincon. In Rincon, there are some excellent hotels. We, however are the closest luxury villa resort to Rincon.

Rincon does not have a family luxury resort like our Villa Montana Beach Resort. The Horned Dorset Hotel in Rincon is truly excellent and it is a rare treat to stay there. But our costs are considerably less and our style is considerably more laid back than the Horned Dorset. That is at as it should be for our casual family resort that hearkens back to the relaxed world of the Caribbean 30 years ago.

Like Rincon, our resort's beach has some of the finest winter surfing in the Caribbean and, some of our surfers would say, the world.

That is also, of course, what people say about Rincon, but Rincon has its excellent Horned Dorset and, the ,other hotels tend to be more commercial in style than Villa Montana Beach Resort.

From our own luxury beach front hotel to Rincon is a pleasant 45 minute drive. Villa Montana Beach Resort is that close to Rincon.. Real, "hard-core" surfers stay with us and surf off our less crowded beaches than the surfing beaches at Rincon.

In Rincon, many of the resorts sit atop cliffs. Here, so near to Rincon, Villa Montana Beach Resort sits right on its own isolated and virtually deserted beach - all 3 miles of it. All without a single building.

So near to Rincon, our resort speaks to another age of a quiet, peaceful, relaxed Caribbean. No pool bar here at our resort near Rincon.

Restaurants in the Area - Porta Del Sol Puerto Rico

Restaurants are few and far between - other than, of course, our own.

Outside of our resort, there is one good casual local fish beach restaurant down the way at Jobos beach - Ocean Front - and then one fine dining local restaurant with an excellent chef - Restaurant 1867 - on Route 110 between Aguadilla Airport and "the blinking light".

After that, guests travel for local beach front meals to Rincon which is a 45 minute drive.
